Terms of Use

Effective October 19, 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and Montgomery Appworks LLC, 9905 S Pennsylvania Ave Ste A, Oklahoma City, OK 73159 ("we", "us"), for your use of Lampstead Memory (the "app"). By using the app you agree to them.

Using the app

We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app to memorize Scripture. Don't misuse the app, try to break its security, or use it to break the law. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies, and these terms add to it.

Scripture and your content

Scripture text in the app is in the public domain: the King James Version, the World English Bible (text via bible-api.com), and, for whole-book memorization, the American Standard Version (1901) and Young’s Literal Translation (1862), sourced from the scrollmapper/bible_databases project. Book text is downloaded from our site when you start a book. Listen audio was generated with the Kokoro-82M text-to-speech model (voice “George”), used under the Apache License 2.0. You are responsible for text you add yourself. It stays on your device and is not synced.

Free and Premium

During the web beta, Premium is free for everyone and nothing is for sale. The plans, prices and billing terms below apply once purchases open in the iPhone and Android apps, which are coming soon.

The free version includes up to 25 saved verses (including verses you add), the 10 bundled verses plus 1 verse from the packs, the daily spaced review, the daily review reminder, Listen (verses read aloud), a one-line weekly recap, the King James Version, streaks with one free freeze a week, and light and dark mode. Lampstead Memory Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that adds unlimited verses, whole-book memorization, the rest of the curated verse packs, Add from Lampstead, extra practice modes (fill in the blank, type, recite), the World English Bible, the full weekly recap and heatmap, and detailed statistics. Plans (US prices, set by the App Store and shown before purchase; may differ by country): Premium $2.99/month or $19.99/year. The Lampstead Collection ($9.99/month or $69.99/year) includes Premium in Lampstead Memory and in the other Lampstead apps (Lampstead, Groups, Prayer, Kids) when you sign in with the same Lampstead account. Purchases don't require an account. Without signing in, a purchase unlocks Premium in this app on your devices. We may improve or change features over time. If Premium ends, your progress is kept, but anything beyond the free limits pauses until you subscribe again.

Subscription, free trial and billing (once purchases open)

• Free trial: new subscribers will get a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you are charged.
• Billing: payment is charged to your Apple ID account (or your Google Play account on Android) when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
• Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the price and period shown on the purchase screen unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Managing and cancelling: manage or cancel in your App Store account settings (iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
• Unused trial time: if you buy a subscription during the free trial, any remaining trial time ends.
• Restore purchases: use Premium → Restore purchases to get Premium back on a new device with the same Apple ID or Google account.
• Refunds: Apple or Google handles refunds under its own policies.

Accounts and sync

Sign-in is optional. If you sign in, keep your Apple or Google account secure. You can delete your account at any time in the app (About → Delete account). Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. See the Privacy Policy for what we store.

Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Speech recognition and scoring may be inaccurate. The app is a memorization aid, not a substitute for reading Scripture in context.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. This doesn't take away any consumer protection rights you have under the law of where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date, and if you keep using the app after that, you accept the updated terms.
